The remaining numbers were pushed together by the king, and their location? The middle, where the highest plateau was, and almost the highest peak of the land. The location was the original for the plans of the new city, however plans have changed after the attack. Attor and his Honor Guard, both Light and Sky, and secured the area, then a select few went and hunted the remaining monsters in the area. The portal still let out one or two at a time, byt after the return, a weeks worth, things were settling down. Thank the gods.... No, thr gods have forsaken their worshippers, or worshipper to be precise. Perhaos this was their way of punishment?
Attor sat on a ledge of a small building, the day had been long enough, and rebuilding was going to take a long while. With most monsters being land based, it made flying and carrying supplies from the ruined cities, such as stone or wood from the older houses. Already, several homes were being built, however they Guards, and Royal soldiers had to defend abd scout the new area of operations, which building might just take longer. The goal? To create a new kingdom high enough to ensure the safety of tge dragons.
Attor gave a sigh, he was grief ridden no doubt, but relieved that some of his subjects, and guards, were still alive. Even his queen was alive which made the better of his relief. He stood on his paws... He thinks they are paws, and walked around tge massive flat of the plateau. One area had injured dragons, nearly dead ones too, that healers and apothecaries were helping. Another group guarded the remainder of the hatchlings whilst another was building new homes. Tye first was for the injured and another for the hatchlings. The second was for the subjects and a large barracks for the guards abd soldiers. Along with that an underground storage for supplies such as potions and food. And lastly, the sovereign's home, which would come last.
The insectoid dragon wanted his subjects happy and safe, sure they would be working everyday, but he worked as well. Attor did not want to be bossy, so he worked too in an effort to help get things done swiftly. It would take time, but it will get done.
Walking from the nearly complete home, Attor looked into the distance, and to further relief, saw the scavenger group come back with more building material and a bunch of chests.
"What are those?" Attor asked, cocking his head slightly at the chests the larger dragons put down.
"Scrolls and more potions, sir. We know to leave tgis stuff behind but our "Great abd Powerful" Court Mage said, "Grab these! They are priceless!"" The dragon replied, agitation clear across his face.
Attor shook his head and gave a slight chuckle, "Vox is still there isn't he?"
"Unfortunately, he is gathering what he can from his quarters, however," He shifted slightly as another dragon bumped him with some wood, "He has been going around gathering what plants he could from the royal gardens, and potions and whatever useful things he could come across. The Mage will be coming back tonight with the second group."
"Tonight? But thats when-" Attor was cut off from his sentence when the dragon spoke.
"Yeah I know. We told him not to stay out like that, but apparently he has, "Unfinished work.""
Attor shook his head again, "You can go rest now, good job."
The dragon bowed and left to meet up with tye rest of his crew. Granted he could rest, he began to work on building with the other dragons charged with the chore. After dark is usually when te creatures come out, so Attor usually make the dragons put out any fires or loud noises from Attracting attention.
The sovereign could only worry more though, while it wasn't night yet nor dusk, the sun sank lower and lower as time passed by. And time is what they needed.
Valcroaza easily defeated Attor in size, yet, he was defeated himself both physically and emotionally. And he roared in frustration, slowly dying from the poisons and wounds, "How could an insect like You overcome a Lord?! I am Valcoaza, warmonger of the Rouges!!"
Attor laughed at the big dragon, walking towards the fallen creature as he prepared the stinger at the end of his tail, "You had the strength, might and size no doubt, what won me the war my friend, was speed, stealth and patience. You would have certainly won had you not been arrogant enough to try and torture and taunt me, taking your simple time to finish what You started. I won because of your mistakes, I won because you grew careless and sloppy, thus meeting your end."
