Battle on Daelorios Island (Open)

Post by Baldirak Sapiens Draco on Sun Nov 15, 2015 2:14 pm

((This is a continuation of Secrets of Daelorios.))

Baldirak finally reached the surface. Curiously, he ended up back in ruined Human palace. Apparently the two ruins were connected by the tunnel he just exited. So the EarthWing made his way back through toward the entrance. Along the way, he noticed pawprints not his own; they were smaller, about the size of a NightWing. Or ElderWing... They were about the same size, after all. Baldirak's pale eyes slowly adjusted to the night sky. Luckily the moon was out, though it was quite cloudy. He finally arrived outside in time to hear wingbeats above... Only a dark shape crossed his sight. It was decidedly draconic and a few more such shape followed not far behind. A hunting party, perhaps. Thinking nothing of it, the king went toward the center of the island, where he would have a better look at everything. Something was off, but he wasn't sure what. His pace was slow going, however, partly because of his leg, but n greater part for his lack of keen sight in the evening.

Shizarou flew at full speed, the 110 mph rate he kept up with no problem. He saw the city in the distance, and charging up a ball of negative energy, the ball was dark purple and glowing with black mist. He was preparing to fire it off at any moment, but, he awaited to get closer to fire it off.

((In case you didn't know, the city is below ground.. Not that Shizarou knows yet. Razz Got some errands to run, so I'll reply later today. MeyoGold, if you intend to help fight Shizarou, you need to read Secrets of Daelorios first. Not the whole thing, though. The last post on page 14 is where Shizarou enters. Read on from there to get an idea of what's going on currently. If you just want to explore the island and not be aware of--or not care about--this fight, then only post on Secrets.))

Durval and his team kept the NightWing's pace with ease. They watched as he appeared to be preparing an attack on the city ahead. It was in ruins, of course, as no one lived there. But it was not wholly unlikely that it would be uninhabited. Perhaps it would serve a suffice place to hide should danger arise--no one--who wasn't actively searching for hiding places--would think to look there. And so the ElderWings would use the NightWing's misguided assumption to their advantage. Using mental communication, Durval ordered one from each of the flanking teams to attack while the other two ascended to the clouds in hiding. The latter done, the two remaining, along with Durval, hovered in place, beating their wings with great speed to produce tornado level winds. These winds were directed behind and to the sides of Shizarou.

Growing nearer and nearer to the city, Shizarou began to see but ruins, and he immediately stopped, keeping the charge of the attack at a constant. He would swallow up the charge energy, see that it was just ruins. His own arrogance and anger drove him to what? Nothing? He calmed himself, still having great irritation at this entire situation. He must find that damned gem, at all costs. He would fly upward, charging up yet another attack and adding the same amount of energy he absorbed from himself, causing the energy ball to overcharge itself as the energy began to seep out. Flying up, Shizarou left behind a long trail of black cloud behind himself form the black and purple energy ball, he fly pas the line of clouds and then stopped, looking down at the island itself, he was preparing the unleash the dark energy attack upon the island. Even if the attack could scorch a part oft he island, the amount of force from this distance could be disastrous to those on the island itself.

Durval and the other two watched as the NightWing seemed to ignore the winds they directed at him. Or perhaps he didn't notice. When they saw him ascend to the clouds, the four ElderWings hidden there were ordered--still mentally--down into clear space. But only when the NightWing breached the clouds did they do so. Durval had seen Shizarou preparing another attack, but what was his target? It didn't matter; he had to be stopped. Fortunately, they knew his exact location in the sky, thanks to the trail he left behind. Durval spoke aloud for the first time. "Alright, lads. One breath for all. We'll alternate, I'll start with fire. Jinn, Argale, you two fire in the center with me. The rest of you, take the flanks, back and front to prevent escape." All nodded their agreement. Jinn and Argale took a position across from Durval in the path of the dark cloud, hovering side-by-side. The other four ElderWings took positions in a diamond formation around them. Simultaneously, they opened their maws and released a concentrated beam upwards, using the black cloud as a guide. Durval used fire, Jinn and Argale used scalding water and lightning, respectively. The other four used ice, acid, light, and shadow. All went up like pillars to surround and--hopefully--strike the NightWing. But surely there could be some flaw to their plan, suppose the NightWing could slip through the flanking beams? Whatever happened, for now the seven ElderWings would keep this up until a new plan was forced.

The black dragon had not seen it coming at first, but then saw the attacks coming towards him. His body began to glow an evil purple and black, taking damage from the overcharge of his own attack, he would dive straight down, using the winds and his weight and wings to speed up. He was hit with the beams of attack, taking damage from those did hurt, especially the water combined with the electricity, but that did not stop his dive. As a swift and cloud of black and purple smog, his body could not be seen but the large black mass falling and falling, growing ever so closer to the ground.

The ElderWings could see the NightWing's rapid descent, feel it in their breaths. Durval, Jinn, and Argale increased the strength of theirs. The other four stopped, as they are no longer needed to prevent escape. Instead, they sought to slow the NightWing. They flew in a circle, going faster and faster until their combined speed created a tornado. It's winds reached 112mph. But the NightWing was in the eye of the storm, as was Durval, Jinn, and Argale. So the three ElderWings began to fly in a circle as well, however, they did so counterclockwise. Their speed paralleled that of their comrades. Their breaths were kept up, pulled into the tornado they created to make a storm comprised entirely of them. But Durval's flame would prove weaker this way, so he used acid instead.

(Sorry for the late reply))

As the black dragon was now hit from all around, he was caught in a vortex. he began to feel himself fading, but he knew not to, and as he lost control he allowed himself to fall, covering himself in the ball of blackness. Looking more like a meteor now, he would continue to fall, nearing the ground now the wind of the tornado would slow him which was not good, but at the same time, was not bad.

Sori and Taleo, two of the four ElderWings fueling the outer tornado, slowed. The other two followed suit. They could see the NightWings descent begin to slow as the inner tornado created by Durval, Jinn, and Argale took its toll. But there was still work to be done. The NightWing had to be rendered harmless, if at all possible, or his descent slowed to the point where the only harm done would be to himself. Sori and Taleo led their two friends down to the base of the inner tornado, as the outer continued on its own, soon to fade without the Dragons to keep it going. The tornado hadn't touched down yet, leaving an opening to fly through. Sori and Taleo went through here to directly attack Shizarou. Sori used Light, while Taleo used ice. Below them, at the base of the tornado, the two remaining ElderWings used fire and dark orbs to block the path. But whenever Durval, Jinn, or Argale tired, one of them took over. Keeping this constant cycle, the ElderWings could maintain the tornado of acid, lightning, and scalding water. They could directly attack Shizarou with ice and Light and block the base of the funnel with dark orbs and fire. But even with this system they began to tire. Sori and Taleo aided Durval with the tornado, while the other two landed and looked for something to deal damage with.

He felt pain, Shizarou felt some form of pain, yet he needed control once more. He would spin himself, forming the darkness around him into another ball of darkness in his mouth. He could feel a presence of light, which as not good, but in any case, it could be used to his advantage. Swiftly, he swished from left to right in the vortex, and then he spread his wings and dove once more, but this time, through the tornado itself. As he clashed with the rapid winds, he broke through the vortex, flying at his fastest as he wanted more energy built up. He was too close to the ground right now, but it would do.
Shizarou crashed to the ground, grabbing the black ball from his mouth and slammed it into the ground, sending it straight down and ready for detonation.

The two ElderWings on the ground were helpless to stop the NightWing. He was simply too close to the ground to bother with an attack. But when he landed, they flew to him. One opened their maw, a stream of fire flying out. The other had its front paws outstretched, claws ready to dig in to whatever they caught. Above, the tornado withered away. Durval, Argale, Jinn, Sori, and Taleo hovered in the air. They looked down at the NightWing and the ball he sent into the ground. Durval and Sori left to pursue the object. Argale and Jinn opted for paw-to-paw combat, joining their friend on the ground. Taleo stayed in the air with the other, using ice against the NightWing.

Shizarou was hit by the fire, the heated sensation that tormented his nerves and body, but this would not stop him as he shot a beams of darkness into the ground, the object in the sky fading away only as a distraction. The beam drilled its way deep into the earth beneath their claws. Shizarou, through the pain he endured flew up as the ground would begin to crack and break, "Since I cannot find the Gem itself, when I was underground in the halls I sensed it underground, so what a better way to uplift the islands ground beneath us!" He laughed like a psycho, yet, he charged up as ground began to break apart, but only slowly, "But since you have been good, I will give you a secret: I can go full on out now." He finished with a sinister smile as the circles on his body began to glow a blood red, his body shrouded in an evil, dark and disturbing aura. He was powering up to his fullest, and he had faith, no, he though he knew he could kill each of these dragons.
